Mahali Mzuri

Which means 'Beautiful Place' in Swahili is Sir Richard Branson’s Safari Camp located in the world-famous Maasai Mara ecosystem and right in the path of the annual great migration

View Mahali Mzuri

Mahali Mzuri sits within the Olare Motorogi Conservancy and boasts 12 luxurious tents designed to be your home away from home throughout your stay, with an ensuite bathroom, inviting private deck and views you won’t want to miss.

Sirikoi resembles an eco-chic African home and while it offers a sure sense of luxury and high level of service, it manages to be welcoming, comfortable and unpretentious. All the rooms are spacious and tastefully designed, with unique décor touches, a sitting area, big Victorian bathtubs, rain-showers, fire places and a private deck.
Surrounded by 68,000 acres of pure wilderness of the renowned World Heritage Site, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, the location of the lodge is truly exceptional. With Kenya’s arid North to one side, and the lush foothills of Mount Kenya on the other, Sirikoi enjoys a beautiful spring-like climate year round.

The wildlife on Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is abundant and includes many endangered species such as black and white rhino, and the largest resident population of Grevy’s zebra in the world.

Families of elephant have carved Sirikoi into their migratory routes and almost daily they can be seen just in front of the Sirikoi dining deck for hours at a time.

Finch Hattons is designed to be minimally intrusive, the camp offers guests stunning views from their luxury suites, fusing modern design with rustic charm to provide an experience that seamlessly combines the thrill of a safari adventure with the opulence afforded by contemporary comforts. The open plan design of the tents invites the cooling breeze closer over the water, transporting all the authentic African sounds, tastes and smells right onto your doorstep.

The camp has preserved the ideals that Denys Finch Hatton lived by; a dedication to elegance and style, coupled with a passionate love of the Kenyan wilderness and a long forgotten way of life.

The best time to travel to Kenya

You can travel to Kenya throughout the year although the best wildlife viewing months in Kenya are during the country’s dry season from late June to September, which also coincides with the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra.

The “short rains” season occurs from October to November/December.These are also are also good times to travel, as there are fewer visitors and you can admire the striking emerald vegetation and also have the chance to see new-born animals and migratory bird species particularly in December.

The peak of the ‘long rains’ season occurs from March/April to May/June

March, April and May being very wet, and many smaller lodges may closed for this period.
